Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is a Trauma Doula?

A trauma doula is a non-medical support person who supports the aftermath of trauma— a sacred witness.

2. Are you a licensed practioner?

No. I operate outside the medical model and have chosen not to pursue licensure. This allows me to offer support free from the constraints of clinical systems. However, should you choose to share a diagnosis, I will honor it. My work is rooted in relational healing, storytelling, and embodied awareness.

3. What does culturally-affirming care look like?

Culturally-affirming care means creating a space for a person’s lineage, lived experience, and cultural roots in healing. This care offers your authentic story to unfold.

4. What resources and support do you recommend for someone in crisis?

I only recommend mutual aid groups, peer-led spaces, and other community-based resources. I do not utilize carceral systems, including police-centered outreach.

5. How do you handle confidentiality in your work?

I hold deep ethical commitments to honoring your privacy and dignity. I do not share your experiences with anyone, for any reason. I keep minimal notes and never record the personal details of what you share.

6. What are your financial exchange rates and do you offer flexible payment options?

All of my offerings are available on a sliding scale. A 1-hour session is offered at $77, $88, or $99 — you choose the rate that feels most aligned and sustainable for you.

I’m open to alternative exchanges such as bartering, energy exchange, or thoughtful testimonials.

If you’re in need of immediate support and are unable to contribute financially at this time, I welcome a conversation.
