This sacred space honored ancestors who lived in bigger bodies within intergenerational fat community.

Through somatic play and water ritual, this afternoon offered a trauma-attuned way to tend to lineage wounds shaped by erasure and stigma.

"Attending the Unmothered Day event was incredibly impactful for me. I felt so connected to the others, to myself, to my ancestors. I took so much from this event and resonated with so many of the truths shared.
Therapy is beneficial and helpful, but sometimes all you need is to cry with other women. Sometimes healing is as simple as breathing, words written on a page, or touching every inch of your body to bring yourself back and calm the nervous system.

Drawing from indigenous wisdom and fat liberation principles we offered a trauma-attuned approach to processing intergenerational trauma.
In Sacred Witness' opening event a circle of 25 grievers nurtured wounds in our bodies, spirits, and lineages.
